Applications
Lʼacide hexanoïque est utilisé pour préparer les esters en réagissant avec les alcools, ce qui trouve lʼapplication dans des arômes artificiels. Elle participe également à la production dʼhexylphénols, dʼhexanoates et de caproates. De plus, il est utilisé comme vecteur génique non viral ainsi que pour protéger les plants de tomate contre le Botrytis cinerea.

Solubilité
Miscible avec de lʼéther diéthylique et de lʼéthanol. Légèrement miscible avec de l’eau.

Stocker dans un endroit frais. Incompatible avec les bases, les agents oxydants, les agents réducteurs et lʼalcool allylique.
