The Triglyceride (TG) Colormetric Assay Kit is a highly reliable and sensitive assay designed for the quantitative measurement of triglycerides in serum, plasma, and tissue samples. Triglycerides are a type of lipid molecule that play a crucial role in energy storage and metabolism. They are the main component of vegetable oil, animal fat, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL). Elevated levels of triglycerides in the blood have been associated with an increased risk of cardiovascular disease, glucose metabolism, insulin resistance, and Type 2 diabetes. The assay utilizes the GPO-PAP method, which involves the hydrolysis of triglycerides to glycerol and fatty acids. Glycerol is then oxidized by glycerol kinase to glycerol-3-phosphate, which is oxidized by GPO and produces hydrogen peroxide. In the presence of 4-aminoantipyrine and phenol, hydrogen peroxide is catalyzed by peroxidase (POD) to produce colored quinones which can be measured at 510 nm to calculate the amount of TG in the sample. Key features • Simple and fast protocol—user-friendly, requiring minimal hands-on time and providing rapid results within a short incubation period • Broad range of kits—across key analytes and targets within the most important metabolic pathways • Consistent—strict quality control criteria to ensure reproducible and reliable results
