This shuttle vector contains the complete ORF for the gene of interest, along with a Kozak consensus sequence for optimal translation initiation. It is inserted NotI to AscI. The gene insert is flanked with convenient multiple cloning sites which can be used to easily cut and transfer the gene cassette into your desired expression vector.

BMP-1 is a zinc protease of the astacin family.
BMP-1 plays a key role in formation of extracellular matrix (ECM) by converting precursor proteins into their mature and functional forms.
The precursor proteins identified as substrates for BMP-1 include collagens, biglycan, laminin 5, dentin matrix protein-1, and lysyl oxidase.
Alternatively spliced transcripts encoding different proteins have been described.
The BMP-1/PCP insert is sequence verified and the entire plasmid DNA and insert translated sequences are provided.
